Privacy policy
Salvi answers WhatsApp enquiries for dental clinics and books patients into their diary. This page explains what we store, where it lives, who else handles it, and how to get it exported or deleted. We never sell data and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who is responsible
For patient conversations, the clinic is in charge of the data (the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Salvi processes it only on the clinic's instructions, under a data processing agreement each clinic signs with us. For the details clinics and visitors give us directly, such as the form on this website, Salvi is responsible.
What Salvi stores
About patients who message a clinic
- Name and WhatsApp number, as shown on WhatsApp.
- The messages exchanged with the clinic's WhatsApp number, including voice notes and their transcripts.
- Enquiries, provisional and confirmed appointments, callbacks, and escalations to the clinic's on-call doctor.
We do not store clinical notes, diagnoses, treatment records, X-rays or payment card details. Salvi is a front-desk assistant, not a medical record system, and it never gives medical advice.
About clinics
- Clinic name, address, timings, doctors, services and the approved price ranges Salvi may quote.
- The names, phone numbers and email addresses of the owner and staff who use Salvi.
- Plan and billing records. Card and UPI payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see full card numbers.
From this website
- When you request a demo or trial: clinic name, your name, WhatsApp number and area. We use these only to contact you about Salvi.
- Your light or dark theme choice, saved in your own browser. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure.
Where data is kept
Salvi's database is hosted in India, in the Mumbai region, and that is where patient records, clinic settings and website requests are stored. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who run the service.
Who else handles it
To run the service, some data passes through these providers. Each is bound by contract to use it only to provide its service to us.
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (WhatsApp) | Delivering messages between patients and the clinic's number | Meta's global infrastructure |
| Our WhatsApp provider (Gupshup) | Connecting the clinic's number to Salvi | India |
| AI provider (Anthropic) | Reading each new patient message and drafting the reply | United States |
| Supabase | Database | India (Mumbai) |
| Vercel | Hosting this website and the clinic dashboard | Global, with form handling in Mumbai |
Patient messages and the AI provider abroad
To reply, Salvi sends the text of the conversation and the clinic's approved details to an AI provider in the United States. We send only what is needed to draft that reply, never the stored patient record. The provider processes it to return a response and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. Clinics are told about this in their data processing agreement, and the stored copy of every conversation stays in India.
How long we keep it
- Patient conversations and bookings: for as long as the clinic uses Salvi, or less if the clinic sets a shorter period.
- Website demo and trial requests: up to two years after we were last in touch, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- When a clinic leaves Salvi, its data is deleted within 30 days, and from backups within a further 90 days.
Export and deletion for clinics
The clinic owns its data and can take it or remove it at any time.
- Export: download patients, conversations and bookings as a spreadsheet (CSV) from the dashboard, or email hello@salvi.live from the owner's registered address and we will send it within 7 days.
- Delete one patient: remove a patient and their conversation from the dashboard, or ask us to.
- Delete everything: close the account and ask us to erase the clinic's data. We confirm by email once it is done.
Your rights as a patient
You can ask to see, correct or delete what a clinic holds about you through Salvi, or withdraw your consent. Ask the clinic first, since it decides what happens to your data. You can also write to us and we will pass your request to the clinic and help it respond. To stop messages, reply STOP or block the clinic's number.
Contact and complaints
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy go to our grievance contact at hello@salvi.live. We reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell clinics by email or WhatsApp before it applies.
